Hello Everyone,

Back in early May, my family and I brought two Cayuga Duck chicks. We wanted to learn about raising animals like Ducks and Chickens, and this was our first attempt.

We did a lot of reading and research, and they are doing well and thriving.

We even built a DIY 2 room enclosure for them.

I just recently was given a promotion and a new job assignment that is taking me and my family overseas to Europe for for next 12 months.

We need to find a good home for our Cayuga's.

They are very well taken care of, they have been around our dog since they were little ducklings, they have been vaccinated, and they are just about 3 months old.

We are located in the Northridge - Porter Ranch - Chatsworth area.

We will also include the enclosure we built if you would like it?

Please contact me here on the forum IM and we can exchange info. if you want to come out and see them.

Thank you,
Chris

If you were any where near me I'd scoop up those girls in a heartbeat. Good luck on finding a home!
Also look around for rescue places that may take them?

If the California state thread doesn't come up with anyone to adopt your two dear ducks, here are some suggestions:

Try social media such as NextDoor and any local Facebook news or farming groups.
Beware of Craig's list -- you would need to make sure that anyone who takes your girls takes them as pets and not for the cooking pot.

You local branch of the ASPCA and the local Chapter of the Humane Society may arrange adoptions. My own only arrange adoptions for dogs and cats, but others are broader in their adoptions

Contact your local wildlife rehabbers: they may know of local duck keepers. Rehabbers often get ducklings to raise and then need to release, and through this get to know local duck keepers.

Good luck with the adoptions and your new career!

Can’t take the ducks, but what vaccines did you give them? I’ve never heard of duck vaccines or them needing them, only things like dewormers.
