Hey everyone!!

I posted in the wrong thread before, so I am re-posting this here. I have a Cayuga hen (~7-8 months old) who is about 8-9 lbs if I had to guess. She is about the same weight as my other hen. She has been laying eggs for a month or two now, and has been doing fine. However, today I noticed she was not acting right. She was standing by her pool and squatting, hunched over, straining her butt. I can’t tell if she has a prolapse, or is egg bound, or if it is a combination of both. She is bleeding, and there is some kind of white fluid occasionally leaking from the area. I have separated her from my other Cayuga drake and hen for now so that she does not get hurt. She has been drinking water and I have been feeding them Kalmbach feed. I do not have much money for vet treatment at this point, so I would prefer to handle this myself if at all possible. I have attached photos of her backside for reference. The ducks home is a secure coop with sand/dirt at the bottom along with some pine straw for nesting.

Any help is appreciated!!

I am hoping that someone who knows ducks will chime in. You may want to give a dose of human calcium or Tums to increase muscle tone to pass a stuck egg. She may have also suffered some damage to her vent from pecking. Keep some vaseline, honey, or hydrocortisone cream on the prolapse tissue to keep it moist and prevent it from drying out. Is she passing any droppings?

Not that I can tell.

Not that I can tell. I have tried soaking her and antibiotic spray.
