So this evening I took the mother out of her pen and introduced the duckling to her while staying close. The mom was very indifferent and paid very little attention. She didn't seem to mind the duckling climbing on her feet and on her back and the duckling seem to preen the mom. After about 30 minutes the mom snapped at the baby twice so I figured that was enough of a visit. I will try again tomorrow evening. But the duckling absolutely loved being on the ground in the grass. I've also screened in a dog kennel added a stuffed toy and a mirror. I may leave it home tomorrow for the first time but check on it every few hours since I work only 5 minutes from home.

How the heck do you empty the pool in the run? This looks like a great set up for some breeding pens. Please tell me it's easier than it looks. LOL

I put a drain in the pool. But that wasn't sufficient. So I have since raised the pool so it can be easily taken out and rinsed. Then I just put it back in and plug the drain and refill. It still has the original pool from 6 years ago....but I have one in reserve for an emergency.[/QUOTE]
