CCL

His coloring looks off. Maybe his shape too. If you plan to sell his chicks or hatching eggs, make sure to inform buyers that he is probably production quality rather than show quality.

Hi someone referred me to this part of the forum. I just want an opinion on the markings of my CCL cockerel and I also have a pullet. They are 15 weeks old and I incubated them. I just wondered if they are good specimens of their breed. I also managed to incubate a Blue French copper marans and a CCL/BCM cross.

I have exactly zero knowledge to impart on the topic of who meets which standard & who doesn't. Zooming the lens way back, all I have to offer is "HE'S SO HANDSOME I CAN HARDLY STAND IT!!" Seriously, that tuft on the top of his perfect little head just makes me want to chicken-nap him...if he doesn't run off & join a punk band! (don't fly to the UK & become an international chicken-napper...don't do it, don't do it :fl). "He's my therapy bird I tell you"...as they drag me away at the airport...:lau

Haha that’s exactly how I feel, thank you. All my friends think he’s gorgeous. There are other cockerels in town and one of the wee boys said I saw another cockerel but he wasn’t as cool as yours! He’s such a lovely boy. I’m waiting for the hormones to kick in (though the fact he won’t come near me any more seems to indicate something is going on) I think I heard a crow yesterday but we have so many noisy birds in the area it’s hard to tell. Which is hugely in his favour.
