CCX begging to be held

Our Reese is now 19 months old and starting to show signs of CHF...
She's a terrific lady and is so very loved.
We brought her inside tonight because her wattles and comb were turning purple.
After some cuddles and conversation she got two favorite treats bread and cheese (not a lot, but she loves them). A cool drink of water and her favorite night time inside roost, the dog couch.
Hope she does better and we have her a bit longer.

Here is Reese next to our Doxel...Reese is bigger than Janet, the dog!!

:hugs How is Reese doing?

I'm so sorry to hear that she is starting to fail. You have done a good job keeping her going! She looks like such a sweetheart. Love the photo of her and the dog for size comparison.

Not trying to be insensitive here - can you tell us a bit more about her symptoms? Does she have noticeable swelling in the abdomen/fluid (ascites) or just in general you feel the heart is giving out on her.

She has swelling, nare leakage, rattling. Her comb and wattles were ashy and turning purplish.
She was sitting up bright eyed with bright red faceage this morning.
Gave her egg for breakfast.
She has no desire to go back out side, but is resting well on her "nest" made of an old comforter.
I put her "nest" by the back door which is glass so she is watching all the other Chooks free range.
So so pretty this morning.

Les bae leakage, but still rattling Ard this morning. Her feet and legs are getting quite swollen too.
:hugs Do you think she would benefit from draining the fluid or do you feel this is her time and you will take it day to day?

Probably just Day to day.
I wouldn't begin to know any thing about draining.
I have limited her water intake for now and she's not rattling as bad tonight. She's up roaming the house and playing with the dog.❤️

Sometimes I think that's best.
LOL Well, it sounds like she's enjoying herself a bit. She has a buddy in the dog?
