Can these be near a chicken coop and run. Some people say cedar aroma is bad for respiratory systems?

It's cedar chips in the coop or run that are bad where it is in direct contact with the birds 24/7. Cedar wood outside in the open air has little effect. My coop and run are directly under a cedar tree, been that way for years.

A cedar garden bed will be fine.

It's fine. I have cedar trim on my coop, a cedar brooder, cedar mixed into my wood chips, etc. Everything is well aged and there's no cedar odor at all at this point.
