I know cedar shavings are a no no for the bedding. But can I use it for parts of the coop, and brooder?

I have quite a bit of cedar planks, and boards. I was thinking of using them for the sides of the brooder and for building the run.

The problem is the toxic fumes from cedar will cause respiratory problems in chickens, I wouldn't use it for brooders or coops.

I personally wouldn't use it for the sides of a brooder - those are young chicks in a pretty warm place, and that will get them close to the smell and the heat might make it worse.....
Better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks everyone pine is cheap enough. Better safe than sorry.

Didnt realize it was fumes, I thought it was because the chicks will try and eat the shavings.
