Cement floor for coop?

I also agree that concrete is great. Should add a double coat of sealant over the concrete. One can use the framing as a lip and fill with sand or pine shavings to their preference. Can also use it to start a run. Don't forget draining holes and keep the coop on a slight slope for easy draining! If you ever need to clean it, a bit of dawn and a lot of water gets it really clean in some minutes. Our three months of chicken poo (swept lazily bimonthly, if at all) came off quite easily. Never planned on our chickens deciding that was their favorite spot, but it happened!

I really like the PEX and insulation idea! I'm wondering, does the concrete expand and contract with the heat? Might it add possible weak spots, or am I overthinking?
