Census...Another reminder?

I have the census filled out, just had not mailed it yet. I got a postcard in the mail yesterday reminding me to do it. I was slightly annoyed. What's the big deal if I mail it now or two weeks from now. Really. It says April first right on it. Maybe I want to wait until the 3rd now......

If you don't mail it out, they will either call you or one of the workers will come by. Either way, you get counted.

I filled mine out. It was not that complicated. I'd rather do it myself then be bugged by census workers.

Well I would not mind to fill one out or have one stop by however hubby got a different agenda, they are not allowed to come over because it is invasion of privacy. I do not know what they dress or what they would look like or how I can find out if they are legit rather than JW folks or LDS Bible folks which they do not have name tags, just black briefcases and Bibles.

If hubby still refuses to give out information, what is going to happen? (unless I got the door first when I am home).

They will have a clearly marked vehicle, and a badge that states who they are. They aren't invading anyone's privacy intentionally. They just ask if they can get a head count from the address. I've never had one ask for a name or any other personal info. Just how may live at address. They won't ask to come in and look around. The ones I've dealt with in the past were very polite, and friendly. You'll be able to tell who they are.

They will clearly identify themselves from the get go.

For all of you choosing not to fill in or send your forms, I applaud you. My brother-in-law is working three jobs to keep his family, one of those jobs is to work for the census. The more people who require a home visit, the longer his employment continues. They are extremely hard-working, tax paying citizens, so do a fellow BYC'er a favour and don't send em!

(Also, please don't give the poor guys sent out to your homes a hard time, they are just trying to make a living like everyone else.)

Peace

Good I would be looking forward seeing them! Bring them on by! If it is a warm day, perhaps a bottled water will help them along!

Deb, I do not know why hubby does not want to mess with any government official, and he does not vote....like one BYCer (Djacs?) said, you dont fill out the forms, or submit the number in your family, then you do not have the right to complain...I agree with it. I voted for Obama and if I dont like the way Congress is doing it, I got the right to complain.
