Central Florida Hatch-A-Holics Poultry Swap Feb 12, 2011 Ocala

Cindy,
There is only one hatchery that has actual Isa Browns. If you see another they all get them from Townline Hatchery in Zeeland, Michigan. Most of my eggs weigh generally from 64 grams to 74 grams which are x-large to jumbo. I weigh all of my eggs in grams. If you want to order any, the least amount is 15 @ ($3.00 ea). When I order I usually order 25 at a time which is ($2.08 ea). If you want to make an order but don't want 25, I will split an order with you. If they put any peanut roos in I'll take the roos too.

Looks like we will have another beautiful day. Weather.com has on the 10 day forecast that Saturday Feb 12th is supposed to be 70 degrees, partly cloudy with only a 10% chance of rain.

There should be an amazing turn out of birds as well as people looking to buy, sell and trade.

A weather forecast ten days out is more fiction than fact, but we can hope the weather will be good. Kinda odd we got so much cold weather in December yet January was so mild while the January previous broke all sorts of records for being so cold! A Mark Twain once remarked "Climate is what you expect. Weather is what you get."

I've got an order of ISA Brown chicks coming in around Valentines day. I'll be bringing them to the swaps not long afterward, but won't have them for this one on the 12th.

I'll be there! Probably looking for more chicks that I don't really need.

Marans especially. Maybe another silkie if my husband won't murder me. Is anyone interested in an old mini fridge? It would make a nice homemade bator!

Alan, How many Isa's are you getting rid of? and how much? I may be interested. I have some RIR's due to hatch on Feb. 12th.

Partly depends on what, if any, shipping losses I have but I'll commit to thirty chicks right now. If they show up on the 16th as I'm expecting I'll be willing to let some go come Saturday, February 19th when I know they are all stable and healthy at $4.00 a chick. Naturally the longer I have to feed them after that the more the price will go up.

I'll have two week old Murray McMurray Pearl White Leghorn pullets at the 2/12 swap for $5.00 each.

I expect that I'll make regular orders like this of ISA Browns, White Leghorns, and maybe a good production dual-purpose breed if I can find one if I can sell the first two orders of chicks for enough to make at least a small profit.

Thanks, I think I'll pass. I am going to put another order in when the weather warms up. We are building another coop right now. I have only lost one chick so far. All arrived healthy but one died a week later. It wasn't developing.
