Central Florida Hatch-A-Holics Poultry Swap Feb 12, 2011 Ocala

In case anyone has any I am looking for
button quail (or eggs)
bantam cochin hens any color (or eggs)
NN turkens (or eggs)
Showgirls (or eggs)
BLRW or SLW (or eggs)

My gander is sold to someone going to the swap, I have rabbits if anyone is interested (does anyone process rabbit?), some Delaware cockerals ( not hatchery stock , they were eggs from HighSpringsChix), and probably some ducks if anyone has any interest in them..... roen, black swedish, welsh harlequin and pekin.

Things are coming together nicely for this swap. We have had another great response and should be a wonderful turn out of people and a ton of birds. It seems that everyone has been hatching chicks as quickly as possible. I guess we really are Hatch-A-Holics. We will have chicks in Ameraucana, Plymouth Rock, Delaware And maybe a few Serama's. We will have a few younger birds as well as some adult birds.
It also looks like there will be some rabbits here and maybe a kid goat or two.
There will be food and drinks available.
There will be cages and all of our supplies. And we now have Oxine!
We are working to get a few demonstrations happening as well.
Should be a great time for all.
And I have put in my order for Sunshine and 75 that day.

I will be there with glw's, redstars, maybe a turken or 2, and maybe some silkie babies.
I will also have hutches and maybe a tractor. also working on a dog house and nesting boxes.
Hopefully, all of my adults that need to go will be gone by then, and all i will have are the little ones.

See everyone there!

and Oxine is a definite need of mine. want to do spring cleaning and disinfect all of my coops.

So educate me....I'm dying to get another chicken right now. But I think I need to hold out for an event where there will be some variety!! What's another few weeks when they won't start laying right now anyway?
My question...I'm guessing most people will not have hens of laying age. How do I know if I'm getting a pullet or a cockerel or can the sellers tell well enough by certain number of weeks the sex? I just can't bring home a rooster! What do I look for??
