Central Maine Bird Fanciers Club Show May 27th

My wife and I decided to go to the Central Maine Bird Fanciers show to see what's it's like. We've never been to a poultry show and curious what they looked like.

To our surprise we also ran into the Southern Maine Dairy Goat show as well so we got two shows in one on that day. We were hoping to find a few serama's there but only found 2 cockerels there. Here are some photo's of that poultry show.

Hope you enjoyed the photos. We really enjoyed the show.

Do they judge by class or overall?
first they judge by best of color of each sex (1st,2nd,3rd pullet, 1st, 2nd cockeral etc), then those birds of that breed by color (aka BV-best of variety) all sexes competing, then those compete for best of breed (BB) and then class champion (ie best featherleg in the case of silkies) then all the class champions compete for best in show.
hope I explained that right.
so if you look at the judging tag that mountaintop silkies posted, you will see 1 circled, being best splash pullet, BV for best splash silkie- all birds competing, BB for best silkie out of all the colors and all the sexes of silkies competing. class champion is written out on the tag (best featherleg) and best in show they usually keep secret until the end.

Thanks for the pictures Bob :) You got one of the birds Sarah just gave to her cousin a coupe weeks ago, the red pyle modern, he looks great standing big and tall. We were not able to make this show, will be back once some issues settle. Looking forward to doing swaps and the fair shows.

Does anyone have the show results they can post, that would be awesome....
