Hello Everyone!
After a few years of reading the forums as a guest, I just joined BYC! I hatch (well not me, exactly
) ) and hand raise silkies of all colors and various breeds of layers.
The one question that comes up often at poultry seminars is the small amount of veterinarians who practice poultry science. I do alot of 'allowed' (non-surgical, etc.) care on poultry, but for more serious issues, travel quite a distance for a 'poultry vet' - Anyone out there have similar experiences? With so many BY farmers raising chickens, it would be great if there were more chicken vets!
