I've been eyeballing Stihls and Husqvarnas lately...can't decide between a Farm Boss and a Rancher 55, which is OK since I can't afford either right now anyway.
Frankly, though, I can't complain much about the saw I have now. It's just a little Craftsman...like, 42cc or so, with an 18" bar. I've had it for about five years and killed three or four chains with it...and that's sharpening chains down to where there's only about 1/8" of tooth left. I just put a new chain on it weekend before this past, and proceeded to fell and cut a forked dead-standing tree into a pickup bed full of firewood. Had it on the ground, cut into logs, split, and put in the truck in about an hour and a half. Little saw is tough as nails and as reliable as it can be. Aside from it occasionally bogging down with the cutting depth approaches the length of the bar, I've really got nothing but kind words for that little saw. If I were ever to wrangle up the cash to get a bigger saw like a Farm Boss or Rancher, the little craftsman would definitely keep a place in my toolshed.
