I tried that, she didn't like the wet mash. I can always try it again but less mushy. You could try wetting down some crumbles for her in a separate container.
She’s so cute! I’m glad she made it out ok!
When I raised quail, I ground up their food in a little blender I bought at Walmart for $10.00. It makes it super fine and they were able to eat it better.Jelly Bean is in the brooder. I gotta watch her though. The crumbles are a bit large, & hard for her to swallow. I did make the crumbles smaller in a small peanut butter lid, but she's a stubborn little chicky.
She's doing good with softened food. When I raised quail, I ground up their food in a little blender I bought at Walmart for $10.00. It makes it super fine and they were able to eat it better.
Have you tried to vent sex Jelly Bean or is he/she too delicate? Just curiousThe lady will be coming by Saturday to pick up her 12 chicks.
So, that'll leave Jelly Bean, & the two grow outs.

No, since she's mostly OEGB her color is auto sexing. It's a girl.Have you tried to vent sex Jelly Bean or is he/she too delicate? Just curious![]()

I'm curious, how is the size of the egg/chick affecting its health? How did the hatch go? Did it need assistance? (I can't seem to go back through enough pages on this thread to find the details!) And what happened with the double-yolked egg? Did it develop and hatch? These are two kinds of eggs I wouldn't have thought to hatch for fear the chicks wouldn't be healthy so I'm interested to know how it's turning out for you.
