Challenge Of The Father (Recycling Nightmare LOL) Finished (pg5)

I see you've used the Fusion paint for plastic....it works too. I painted a plastic flower pot that has been outside for 3 years and has held up beautifully. Re-cycled art is very popular and you should consider submitting something at your local art contests...you have the "gift" to think outside the box...or coop;)

I have taken on a simular coop project. I was able to find alot of free wood on Craigslist. Also Home depot has what they call opps paint for $5 and gal.

Good luck, My little girl and I are enjoying our project.

Cluckette-You are way too kind. The only thing I do that might be considered art are a few digital art and photos at deviantart.com
and making a few gnarled walking sticks for friends.

My attempt was to make it look somewhat like one of the old southern mansions decaying in the weeds.

I'll finish soon. All that is left is some minor painting and then on to the decorative stuff like door trim, porch, etc.

The top triangle parts have cat litter container siding (already white). On the back side the triangle is hinged
and opens up with a magnet lock. (Storage)

I wanted the top piece to be exaggerated because it is used for ventilation from the top of the dresser out the roof.
Tin from my neighbor's wind destroyed metal building became the roof.

All I cut is crooked.

All finished. I'll put the chimney on sometime later but, it is imperative to put my birds outside now.
One of them is broody and sitting on 3 eggs. That's why the back is just screwed on. I can make an
addition to the back of it to make larger if need be. I'll install the latches, that is all and work on
making the chainlink run secure for small chickens.

The window frame was 1x2 boards just nailed into
a square. The door frame was a piece of rough cut 2x6.
The side of the door frame is just pieces of an old mirror frame.

Ramp and porch are removable with eye hooks in case I wish to move the little coop.
Vinyl tile was free and in a box of several 100 my dad had in the basement.

My prize...
Old storage building bordering my property and my dad's. (concrete floor)
To be converted into a large coop for my big girls. (To Be sided with cat litter buckets)
The little coop gave me lots of ideas.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. It was fun building something with no plans and
having to work on the fly to make something work.
