i want to hatch cayugas this summer with my homade incubator made from a cooler. i want to end up with 2 ducks to keep but i dont want to hatch too many that i dont sell. my problem is i want to hatch at least two eggs so i was thining of ordering eggs, but i dont want too many ducklings that i wont b able 2 find homes for. what do ppl think r the odds of me hatching 2+ out of 6 eggs? shud i get more?

Duck eggs usually handle shipping pretty well. The only problem with your scenario that I can see is sexing. If you don't care whether or not the 2 ducklings you hatch are opposite sexes then there wouldn't be a problem, but if you want a male/female pair you'd need to get more eggs. Ducklings usually sell pretty good, I would order more eggs if at all possible. You could always list them early (before they hatch) so you can have buyers lined up to get them early. Or you could always order a few ducklings and not worry about it.
