Thank for asking! She seems fine. Laid an egg yesterday so we decided.to put her back with her friends. So far so good. Still the water belly but no signs of infection or other trouble. Pretty crazy.

She is skinny. I have braced myself for her demise but still hoping we can keep her around a bit.

Actually, she still seems fine. I think she is laying just about every day and know for sure she laid today. Shes off the abx. She still has a water-belly (or, balloon-butt as my kids say), but otherwise seems none to worse for wear.

It really seems crazy, but, there you go. As long as everyone is laying eggs, pecking and scratching and doing their chicken-y things, I am going to assume all is well.

I think everyone should learn how to suture! 4 bucks worth of expired sutures (and antibiotics, obviously) have saved my chickens lives twice. Then again, Ive had chickens for many years without needing to sew anyone up..... its been a rough year, lol.
