Chances that my pullet is a roo?

My easter egger is about the same age, maybe a little younger. She's got no comb, it's pretty much flat. That comb would worry me, but they say you never know for sure till they lay an egg or crow! My chicken book says some hens rarely can grow spurs and even may crow, so I would just wait and see.

We have rehomed a hen that crowed, no spurs and laid eggs but she crowed!
Our little roo last year, we were sure he was a roo when he came here from friends house but we waited and waited. He had small spurs but good comb and wattle but one morning I let them out and COCKADOODLE-DOO he goes. He was rehomed by the weekend to our friend out in the country.

Maybe it is just all the love that has made her comb grow, like George the duck..... at 3 weeks old George stands about 16 in. tall with a body that is about 8 in. long and it takes both my hands to hold him.

That is what I thought......

We have 3 EE hens, 1 we adopted old(came as a group adoption), 1 our friend raised but we didnt know him then(that is how we met, buying chickens from him our 1st yr raising chickens) and then last year we bought a JG chick and an EE chick and he raised them. Ghost, the EE chick was small and is still a small chicken but in comparison.... her comb was NEVER this big or prominent at this age.

Like I said, hubby and I are prepared that Spirit could easily be a roo. And if so, he/she will find a nice home out in the country at our friends house.

We are those kind of people that end up with the odd chances.....
There were like 100 chicks in the pen, all EE's and chances that we picked 1 of the roos.... despite being sexed pullets... are really great!LOL

Of course, if we had picked 10 EE's out of 100 chances would have been we got ALL the roos in the pen!LOL

Oh well......

WOW definitely a roo and I had a pure AM that even after Illa said roo, I prayed over.

He had a cool crow later on though. LOL

I'm actually getting better at this especially right out of the egg. So proud of myself. hehe

odds are it's a roo but then again it could be a really tall hen that have big wattles. Hope it's what you want it to be.
