Change in Eggs-Due to Baby Food??

Need a little reassurance from you nice folks.
I have 2 laying hens (27 weeks) and 6 girls (10-12 weeks old). They are seperated in different coops until the little ones are big enough to defend themselves as needed from the big girls. In the evening and weekend all the girls free range and they are getting along great. However the hens like to visit the girls coop and help themselved to the chick feed in the coop. I have notice one of the hens eggs change the last two weeks this has been going on- thinner shell, pale yolk. And the last two eggs were found cracked on one end, like it couldn't handle all the pressure from laying. Is this just from her change in diet or could there be something else causing this change? The other hen's eggs have not changed but then she is not the piggy eater the Dom is.
I know the chicks need chick food until 18 weeks or so but would I be doing much harm changing them early?

Do you give free choice egg shell or oyster shell? If not, the amount of starter feed could be effecting the one hen's eggs. I wouldn't change the feed for the little ones, I would just make sure the big girls have access to either oyster or egg shell for their calcium needs.
