Change of plans

Got the stairs for the deck done, so we moved the temp stairs to the run to replace the ones that have been there for a couple years☺ Going to use the other section as a feed and water shelter, DH still has to put a couple legs on it

The littles turned 12 weeks old yesterday, they are growing so fast and getting friendlier by the day 😁❤ The FBCM is quite the talker, she reminds me of my Welsummer, lol

Ok y'all I need some expert eyes, my splash ameraucana has started developing quite the tail and "her" comb has gotten quite red this past week. They will be 13 weeks old Wed. Some close ups from this morning... there hasn't been any crowing or bad behavior, and this is my first ameraucana, but I'm seeing 3 rows on the comb and for some reason "she" is screaming cockerel to me

I can't decide whether "she" is growing pointy saddle feathers or not. They always mean the bird is a male*

3 rows in the comb can happen with either gender.
That comb doesn't look especially big to me, although it does seem pretty red.
At 13 weeks old, I could believe early-maturing pullet or late-maturing cockerel, but I am leaning a bit toward pullet.

*Exception: hens can grow male-type feathers if they have a hormone problem, but that is quite rare.

🤞 I told DH that we would wait until after our vacation (end of this month) to be certain, then we'll decide...I'll probably get rid of him if he is a him because I don't want to lose the dynamic I have with my ladies 😒

Just got done mowing the chicken yard and decided to get some updated pics since everyone is out enjoying some fresh mowed grass, lol...16 weeks on Monday (and yes we still have him, haven't been able to find him a home🤷)
