Change of plans

Decided that since they don't really use their momma heating pad anymore that I would just build them a huddle box for their grow out coop. Temps have been lows in the 70's and highs in the upper 80's (they are 16 days old) One of the littles has an irritated eye, so I brought him inside and did a saline rinse then ophthalmic gel, seems to be doing better

Everyone was good this morning, wanting out. I opened the door and they came running out eating and drinking and running wild. Couple hours later started raining so I put them back in their coop till it let's up

Wow...completely neglected this thread through the summer, my bad! To much to catch up on, many chicks later I hatched my last batch of the year last Saturday. Chocolate and white orps from Carolina Rare Chicks. Lots of projects this weekend, going to finish trimming the back deck, put a new door on the coop, and move the littles to the grow out area. I'll update with lots of pics later.

Being trampled by little hen feet, so eager to get out to the garden that they run right over my feet, is one of my favorite life-moments. It means they trust you, and the garden you have provided is their little bit of heaven.

Littles are moved, and quite happy about it, lol, still need to install the new auto door, but it's hot and humid as all get out, so I'm taking a break

The littles are putting themselves to bed quite nicely! And the moon tonight is amazing!

I bought it, but thank you! It makes an amazing grow out coop, and now with the auto door it's easy peezy!
