He did pretty good with the bullets, and then started drinking quite a bit of electrolyte water, so moving in a good direction I think. This is my first go round with wry neck so I'm winging it with what I've read.
I haven't dealt with it yet, so this is a learn-a-long. I'm glad he's reacting positive to your help. ♥️

Not sure if I started this thread a couple years ago or if you had a build thread.

I did stop getting notifications for a very long time. Like "Fuzzi's" thread, it would have been great to find it a year ago when I 1st broke my ankle. Would have been cheerful to follow along... Now that I have it, hope to not lose it. Just now walking w/o a limp. In house no cane. Out & about cane. Scheduling SX to remove hardware... Surgery says could be good - walk out in boot. Or bad - cast/splint & back to non-weight bearing... sad 😞

I asked about the incubator. I am using an NR 360 (2). I'm not sure if I got bad eggs (maybe - i swear they were fairy eggs - though uniform in size & color). Out of 30 eggs, 2 hatched normally, 4 assisted hatch & 3 didn't make it. I think i had 10 either hairline crack or 1 tiny pip, then nothing. They did seem to get shipped "wrong way" - shipped Monday, didn't arrive till Sat. 2 CLB cockerels & pretty sure BR is a cockerel.

I never did a build thread, just post all my chickening here, along with homesteading stuff😊
I'm glad you're on the mend, hope everything goes good with your surgery, so you're ready to go for this summer!
Do you have a thermometer/hygrometer in your incubators? I always keep one in there just to be sure. My NR360 is set to 100.5 because the temp is off. But really a week in the mail for eggs is a lot of abuse, that and poor packaging could have very well led to your poor hatch rate. I hope your next hatch is better!

Almost forgot, Langdon was not having any part of being fed this morning, I got his vitamins in him and set him down in front of his water, which he gladly drank, one of the bullets fell on the ground and he started pecking at it like crazy so I broke it up and put it in my hand, he ate it with enthusiasm so I did the same with the other one. I went back in the house and grabbed the container of the feed I made the bullets out of, he ate quite a bit more of that then stumbled into the little coop and took a nap. He's not interested in the pellets that are out there, but at least he ate. I'll feed him all the mash he wants! He's is still having head fits and is very unsteady on his feet. From what I've read it can take days to weeks for this to pass.

So I have been giving Langdon a container of mash daily with his vitamins added to it (he also has access to regular feed) he's eaten all of it for the last 2 days. He's been up walking and scratching a lot more. I spent about 10 minutes with him in the grow out pen and he only had 1 head spasm that was very brief. I'm hoping to be able to let him out Friday after work with the ladies and see how things go.
