Change of plans

You'll be swimming in peppers soon enough! What do you plan to do with them?
I planted jalapeño, red bell pepper, those yellow pepperchini ones, and poblano. I want to pickle the yellow ones to use on sandwiches and stuff. Maybe make some poblano soup. If our tomatoes work out, i'll make some salsa and pasta sauce.

Last year, our garden failed. The only thing we got successfully was green beans and summer squash. Everything else died. I think it's the soil. The people who owned this property before us buried all their trash and we found a ton of random trash when we tilled. We added a ton of compost last year and this year we added my chicken compost and it looks much healthier. Fingers crossed!

My garden took a pretty hard hit last year when we got like 3ft of rain in a month, it just water logged almost everything. Fingers crossed you start getting some goods! That's what I did with my first batch of banana peppers, pickled with some onion, garlic, dill, and red pepper flake 😋 This batch I stuffed half with cream cheese and Italian sausage, wrapped with bacon and put them in the freezer, same with the jalapeños, the other half went into the crockpot for some chili tomorrow.

Oh my that sounds amazing. I'm hungry all of a sudden!

I've got all kinds of canning recipes if you'd like to try something new 😊 I made 9 pints of oven roasted marinara this last winter and only have 1 left😋 I can't wait to see what you make!
Thanks! I'll definitely pm you. I bought a pressure canner last year and hoping to use it more this year! I've only used it once to can Roo Stock.
