The White and Wheaten Marans are in lockdown and so are Onyx's 4 F2 OE eggs (Onyx/Langdon).

No, these are a gals that has bought chicks from me many times, her hen died from the heat and she asked me to hatch the 5 eggs she had of hers, 4 were fertile. I'll be getting some eggs from her next spring if there are some pullets in this hatch, her roo is gorgeous

Soooo, I saw both OE's that are laying, lay in the same box today on the camera. Hubs obviously missed collecting an egg and I missed who was laying what in camera. The blue OE lays this pinkish egg, the partridge lays the dark egg (that tiny little thing on the bottom is from my Bielefelder ) The pinkish egg is pretty, but not what I'm looking for, so disappointing, cause I really like the blue girl

I'm so happy that I've been able to do my chicken chores the past few days (now that I'm not at sore) since there is so much going on this weekend! So first off all, the Blue OE's eggs just keep getting darker brown, so I emailed the breeder and asked if there was any way that a blue copper marans egg got in my shipment since I know she uses multiple breeds for her OE's and also breeds them separately. Her egg from yesterday

In other news, we've got our first pip on the Marans eggs, and there were 2 pips on Onyx's eggs so I took those 4 out to her to finish the job.

Your suspect Blue OE looks similar to a BlCM, as far as comb and foot color? No muffs/beard?

I've got a male OE I would swear was a BCM if I didn't separate all green eggs at lockdown to the 360 and legband at hatch.

On the left. The only other tell I see is he has white coming in on his tail and it's getting squirrely which makes him King x Esther so he's an F1OE.

She Emailed me back and said she didn't have blue coppers only black, but had gotten OE's the same color before. I'm half tempted to keep her and hatch some of her eggs to see if I get blacks and blues If I do then she would be perfect for the splash ameraucana roo I plan on adding to the flock. I need to get healed up first so I can help hubs with some renovations to the chicken run.

Just throwing it out there, if you had a dark egg BCM roo you could darken those browns even more to make 'Chocolate Eggers'. You'd have to add BCM hens also of course.

We'll find out just how dark Langdon's dark egg gene is in about a month I need to get some pics of the 2 pullets I kept, they're turning out quite nice! Ilike the chocolate egger idea, has a nice ring to it In other news we have our first little

And me and the hubs have had a sweet tooth so I made a cherry cream cheese danish
