Bummer deal! I hope the chicks don't catch it. I worry about that with my little ones. My entire flock is vaccinated against fowl pox because we have such a mosquito problem but the hatched babies weren't...

I hope not either! I really don't have anywhere to separate them to, and what makes it worse is that everyone is starting to molt so there are feathers everywhere. I'm gonna keep a close eye on everyone and do what I can do. My little Marans pullets one eye is completely scabbed over now, I feel so bad for her. I do a saline rinse, then antimicrobial eye gel every day.

Went out to do chicken chores, cleaned that little girl's eye (it's looking less irritated, but still pretty gangster) then fed her some blueberries as a treat for being so good! Disinfected all the waters and filled a couple with poultry cell. Sansa's littles all look great so far, no sign of infection. She is much more easy going than Onyx I'll grab some pics this weekend. This is the eye stuff I've been using. I used it a couple years ago on a hen that got pecked in the eye and it worked wonders.

There are 2 of these multi-generation OE chicks, they are feathering out so neat!

There are 2 ermine, it's official.

My keeper from the first batch of Onyx/Langdon babies, she's an F2 OE

English Orp/WM cockerel, 16 weeks

Multi-generation OE, momma of 4 of the chicks Sansa is raising

Her gorgeous green eggs (I hope at least 1 is a pullet, I've got to see what they lay!)

Chillin! Cersei and her pitiful looking molting self on the left Prissy is the biele in the back, partridge OE next to her, and Dahlia in front all have lesions to some extent. I cleaned that little girl's eye and put some neosporin on it today since the scab seems to be loosening. All the chicks still look good.

I went ahead and candled (day 5) 7/8 of the ermine eggs are developing! I can't for the life of me see into the dark green OE eggs, I've tried everything; candler, flashlight, incubator light, so I'm just gonna leave them This is definitely a first

You may need a 1000-1200 lumen LED flashlight for candling dark eggs. Candlers in the 250-300 range work great for white eggs but darker eggs need more light .You can tape an empty roll of toilet paper on the end of the flashlight to keep the eggs from getting hot.
