Change of plans

I vote no on giving naughty broody eggs right now(unless you have buyers lined up) and yes to the Rooster Pants. 🤣
I do not have buyers lined up and getting rid of chicks in the winter is hard. All my grow outs that aren't staying will be gone in a couple weeks, so I think I'm just gonna stick with the chicks Sansa has and go from there. She's going in the clink!

I've never had a cockerel crow or mate the pullets at 5 weeks old (almost 6) but one of mine started crowing this morning at 3 am and later in the day. I only have 2 but I'm not sure which one it was.He only crowded twice this morning and once today. Its probably the same one that mounted a pullet right before I locked them up for the night. They free range with the broody hen and rest of the flock

I have 8 - 3 week olds right now that I don't know the sex of yet, and a 17 week old cockerel that is trying to mate and should have already been gone. I just don't want to add insult to injury right now, lol

Now that I have a rooster and broody hen I just supervise and let her do all the grunt work

Sansa's sleeping arrangements with her children, and yes those are littles slumped over the edge of the nest box🤣

It was wet and windy all day.The sun was only out a couple hours.
The chickens got cold and went to bed early. I think I'll go to bed early too.Its supposed to be down in the 40's tonight

P/G has graduated to a nest box but only 1 of the 5 can fly up, so I have to help at bed time. Did this with her previous hatch also.
The only other broody I have that's ever done this is Onyx and she does it every time she hatches. I have a brick that I keep in the coop as a little step to help them out. Goofy birds, lol
