Change of plans

Cersei is working out her paint issues and her daughter is right there with her in color! Looking forward to the next week's worth of eggs!

I have a question for you @wrathsfarm So when I first started with my Wheatens I was charging $25/dozen for hatching eggs (I had some lighter layers). I don't have them anymore and if my other grow outs (they will be F2's) lay as good as or better than the first that has started I want to up my prices, but have no idea to what🤷‍♀️ Suggestions sir?

It would be best to be comparible to what Wheaten eggs normally sell for if you were ordering them, taking into account SOP and color of egg as well as a deciding factor.
I've priced mine at 40/dozen now for the last 2 years. Next year I'm increasing my price, as I've got my stock going in a good direction and seeing darker eggs and I believe it warrants the increase. I'm contemplating 60-80 per dozen.

Much appreciated! As far as SOP goes my current ladies are much better than what I started with, I think Langdon (he's a handsome beast, lol) helped a lot with the wheaten coloring. No one anywhere near me that I've been able to find sells Wheatens, only BCM, so that's a plus. I'm probably going to do a hatch soon with these F2's eggs and see what the littles look like. Thank you again!

Take into consideration that BCMs are the most widely popular variety and to some there's no other variety until we point it out. I can't count how many I've shown my BBS Silvers to and there like "Whaaaaaat?"...
And I'm sure it's the same with Wheatens. The nice part is, the explosion of the BCM market has opened eyes to our other varieties and that's a plus in my eyes, if we can only get more SOP focused folks and not just dark egg breeders. But that's a long shot as it always mainly go towards what the market demands.

Do a little research into your Wheatens price point and I'm sure you'll find your selling your eggs too cheap. My suggestion would be start at minimum 40/dozen, track your sales and adjust accordingly. Get a feeler out, so to speak.
