By far one of the strangest things I've seen with my broodys. So this is lunatic fringe and her pullet (10 weeks old) that I kept. Since she started laying again a few weeks ago her pullet literally gets in the nest box with her and just hangs out the entire time. I guess she'll be a pro when it's her turn to start![]()
The first time I saw it on the camera I just took it as a one time thing, now it's just business as usual, lol.I had a hen & her daughter that did that once, too. It really surprised me the first time I saw it, but they just kept doing it and I eventually quit thinking about it. I have no idea at what point the pullet stopped keeping her mother company in the nestbox.
