Changing egg racks on a LG #6300

Ask her if they are pharoahs or jumbos. There are also A&M quail that some on here sell, that are a type of jumbo, but the eggs I've seen of those were the same size as my pharoahs (regular brown) eggs.

Okay, I'll pm her. She's never mentioned that they were jumbo so I imagine they are the regular kind. The holes in the turner look awful big, I'd hate to get the eggs and not be able to put them in there.

They should fit right in, unless they are very small. Some of my button eggs would fit in there, and I doubt any coturnix egg would be that small!! You could ask her what she thinks if you are not sure. Or you could use some cotton balls and stick those in the bottoms of the cups. But I have not had one yet that wouldn't fit in there. They go down quite a ways, like almost half, but they will stay in it, and they don't fall out.

I love this forum and the people, you are so helpful! As long as luvmychix is agreeable to letting me buy smaller amounts one at a time, I think I'm going to have a ton of quail.

If she lets you buy them in smaller amounts, you will only need to get them once, they are mature and laying eggs by 8 weeks at the most normally. I have 2 A&M's that were mature at 5 weeks, and monarc23 has some jumbos I think, that aren't even 4 weeks that are mature! Of course, mine and hers are males, but the females wouldn't be far behind!

This is very true, maybe I will get two sets of 40, as my friend with whom I trade poultry with wants some, and I'd love to grow some up for eating as well.

I agree with Shelley, I like her cotton ball idea, she'd deffinatly know what she's talking about with turners and quail eggs--- me on the other hand....i have no clue other than what I know from Shelley!
