Changing water sources

Our chicks are 11 weeks old. I put a new waterer in and they are not using it much. Initially i showed them and saw some interest but the level isn't going down so i gave them back their old one. They seem thirsty...mouth breathing but i show them and they ignore.

Should i take it away and reintroduce it when they mature?

You went from a bucket or a bowl of water to a nipple water system?

Do you have a vent hole in your waterer?
Are you sure it's working correctly?

I'd put their old waterer back.

Yes the old one is on the right.

The nipple system works when I touch the metal part water comes out.

I'll have to check for vent.
