Chantecler Thread!

Is there a Canadian SOP or do you use the US one? British?? Australian??? I can get an older copy from the library to read about this breed, but it would be the US version.

I'm pretty sure my chantecler is a young cockerel. Thoughts? His cushion comb turned red a week ago and looks like its bulging so signs of male?? I have a few cockerels now and need to start rehoming before the testosterone gets out of control. And if he's a male unfortunately he's not the chosen one to stay

I agree, cockerel. My eight white chicks are now nine weeks old, and so far I'm guessing three pullets. Better than zero, right? I want to keep one cockerel, and it looks like I'll have several to choose from! I have had some success placing nice boys with other flocks, but white Chanteclers aren't well known around here, unfortunately. Mary

I'm not even sure how to tell if he'll be nice looking, his parents are GORGEOUS so hopefully he gets all of their good genes. I'm going to keep him for another couple weeks before I list him I think he's a sweet boy

Eye colour is wrong, but can't say much more than that. He could just be too young to have his adult eye colour in yet.
