Unfortunately because of neighbors, predators, and the recent avian influenza, I’m not able to free range my flock, which makes me very sad. I try to give treats and foraging material though.

But occasionally I’ll let one of the chickens out and allow them to forage for a bit with direct supervision.

Today Pebbles had a fun time scratching around.

One of my JungleFowl pullets have an unusual crop placement. Instead of the right side of the chest, her crop is on the left side.

Well, seems like my JungleFowl are more pure then originally thought. One of the cockerels is already starting to bud spurs. The JungleFowl are only 9 weeks old.

I've now got a total of 13 birds on the butcher list. I decided to keep back one of the Silkie cockerels as a replacement for an 7-8yr old Silkie Rooster.
