Are the coops big enough to lock them in all day long, for just maybe two days? So, they hopefully get the idea.

Yes, I feel your pain!!! Moving them is a hassle for all involved. Ours are still "forgetting" where they live when it's time for them to come in from ranging.....completely exhausting, especially in this heat. We have 3 sets of roos with hens that get to range...... then 1 pen with just roos to range..... and another roo and 3 hens to range (they are sold-hopefully will be picked up next week). With 5 sets to range, they have to alternate turns so they all get out range about. I'm a bit "seasoned" myself and was never a good runner, heehee...That isn't all bad. It's the chasing those darn Leghorns all over!!! They jump the fence all the time. They are little roadrunners!!My knee is swollen today from playing tackle football with them.
I hate to do it, but may have to start clipping a wing with them. Getting too
to be chasing them around like that. Then I moved the 7 leghorns and the 8 light brahmas over to there new pen yesterday afternoon. Well tried. Only moved half. Then had to wait till it got dark and go in the roost to get the others out. Also moved my 9 HDelaware pullets over to were I had the PRIR. I gave all my PRIR away Sunday. It's funny how well chickens really are trained. The little pullets and all those hens in the back come night fall wanted back in there old house. I had to chase them around and lock them up in there new houses.
They insisted to go back to there old house. I never thought it would be that bad to move them. Unreal.![]()
They all went to there new houses last night. Well except the Dellies. Had to get them and lock them in. But they are getting it. There is only 9 of them. And they are pretty tame. So easy to get. Had to cut #2 Leghorns one wing so she would stop flying into the roos section. Had to chase her around 3x yesterday. Had enough. As soon as I clipped her wing she ran right for the fence and TRIED to fly over. Got half way up and started the out of control helicopter spiral death spin to the ground. That took care of that.![]()
Omg the mental image I just got from that! Lol thanks for making me laugh this morningThey all went to there new houses last night. Well except the Dellies. Had to get them and lock them in. That is great that they are going to the new house! Your leghorn will get it sooner rather than later now that she got her wing clipped! They all went to there new houses last night.
