I wouldn't say that I fail at writing those stories. It takes a lot more than a single idea to make a whole book. I have to map it out start to finish with plot points before I can even start if I want to finish it, not to mention research certain areas such as religions, climates for different biomes, lifespans and jobs for certain time periods, technology, wildlife, common trade for certain regions, astrology and weather, ect
