I just got in from taking care of my birds a bit ago and it's downright unpleasant out there. We got snow, then rain, then snow, then rain, then snow, then rain, then snow all yesterday and into the night, and now everything is icy and frozen shut. The chickens don't want anything to do with the wind and are all grumbling about being cooped up. Thankfully, I've tried to give them plenty of space that is protected from the wind so that they can keep cozy on days like this without being all cramped together and extra grumpy.

I didn't even let my mini barn birds out yesterday. I opened up the pens I could, so eveneryoje had a bit more room and just opened a window instead for some more airflow

Brr, I can't imagine how much more brutal y'all have it up there in Montana compared to here. Hope your birds are handling things all right? We haven't even dipped into the negatives (F) here yet, though we're supposed to for the next few nights.
