Chat Thread for the New Crazy 24 hour Auction

How excited are we after all the time we put into starting our turkey breeding. We have our first 3 eggs!!! No, I haven't officially checked fertilization yet and that is why I won't list them, but I'm giving all a heads up that they will be ready soon!!!

I think we should give two hatch rates for shipped eggs
1. The normal calculation
2. The percentage that hatch after lockdown. (Because it bums me out to have to include the internally damaged ones in my %)

I have 8 beautiful cjwaldon CL chicks and I couldn't be more pleased! (And even though they're tiny, I can see itty bitty crests on a couple already. They are adorable!! ) :love :jumpy

Congrats! So, what was your hatch %? Do you happen to know if the eggs from Pappa's is also from GFF lines?

I will put it this way: 75% of the eggs that were viable after day 7 hatched. And that's all I'm saying, or I would be bummed even more with the postal service. I can't recall to answer your question about Papa's CLs (though I'm due to hatch a clutch of his this week) but he is on BYC to ask @Papa Brooder)

Actually, I believe that is a redundant question, no offense meant here...

I *believe* Legbars are one of the breeds that have only been imported by GFF... :)

I thought maybe the question had to do with whether he got them directly from GFF or a secondary breeder. I am often wrong though...

I should have put my question differently. There have been different lines imported over the years and I guess I kinda want the older ones that supposedly have bluer eggs. The older imports also were not cream, but I don't care about the feather color just heathy robust birds that give really blue eggs.

The older Legbar lines are A, B, C, and very often forgotten D... the newer line is the Jill Rees line...

And the older lines do have cream... it all depended on what breeders selected for going forward as to what they ended up keeping... :)
