I have some (shipped) turkey eggs due to hatch Wednesday night. There were 15 shipped. 4 were cracked when received. I had 9 left after my last candle. They will be going into lock down tonight. I'll let y'all know what hatches.

How did your eggs look when you first got them and candled them?I just set eggs in the bator. Six look clear and the other six have a large dark shadow on the big end with air cells that roll from end to end.
I didn't candle them when I set. I figured, either the're good or not. I set 11 and took out two when I candled. That was about day 14. I traced the air cells on the keepers, and 8 of them looked pretty good. One off center a bit much. I don't like to candle early even on chicken eggs. I like to give them the benefit of doubt.
o.k. thanks Only 28 days left to stress out! I can't help it! I'll wear a path back and forth to the bator wondering what I havn't thought of!!! How do you guys do this all the time?I didn't candle them when I set. I figured, either the're good or not. I set 11 and took out two when I candled. That was about day 14. Can you get pictures of the eggs when you candle them? It might help us see better what you are looking at.How did your eggs look when you first got them and candled them?I just set eggs in the bator. I know there are different schools of thought about candling, but I candle mine almost every day until lockdown. Partly because I love to watch them develop, and partly to give them a short cool down period everyday. Some studies show it helps, probably because it mimics the hen getting off the nest each day to eat and drink. Just FYI.
Sounds rotten to me.I just recieved my last batch of turkey eggs and one of them is 3/4 black when candeling. baby chick formed? They where off e-bay!!! Wish I could find the charger for my camera. If I do I will post pictures...
