Here's the rest of our eggs, if you're curious. Set by these dates to hatch on Valentine's Day!

You must be somewhere warmer than Wisconsin to have eggs already.

It's neither warm nor sunny here, as I'm almost at the arctic circle :lau
My Muscovies are stubborn gals that are apparently above such things as seasons. They have always laid in clutches at seemingly random intervals during the year. Around 20 eggs, then some months' break, then 20 eggs again.
Makes it hard to plan incubation, just gotta take the eggs as they come! :D

I hope you get some eggs soon too!

That's crazy. I'll have to give mine a talking to.

I'm no good at this waiting thing. Tomorrow is day 7 and I think I have to peek or I'll explode.
Go for it! :celebrate

I know what you mean! One thing I like about ducks is that I take them out of the incubator to spray them once a day. Ample opportunity to candle and follow their progress :pop
The downside is how long it takes, a month to go?? Aaah!

I peeked at a few eggs to see how well the new wireless webcam worked.

In good lighting it works pretty well, but the images from candling were very unclear and you can't really see any veins, even though they were there.

I'll use it for livestreaming the hatch in good lighting, but I'll go back to using my cellphone to record the candling on day 10.

I also attempted to see into a couple of the dark eggs. I can actually see into them . . I saw the aircell and the embryo. I couldn't really see veins very well though. I think it's because they're close to the same color as the shell and still very tiny.

I started saving eggs today. Hoping to have 2 dozen silkie eggs by the 24th! :jumpy I do have some from a few days ago I'm hanging onto as well in case I'd run short.

In the past, I've incubated three-week-old eggs, and even some from the fridge a couple of times. It cuts into the hatch rate, but when you're desperate for a hatchalong, I've done it! 😊
