Chattanooga, TN (surrounding areas) CHICKEN LOVERS

Thanks Goose and Fig, yes we have a quarry not to far away but I don't think they have sand. From the research I have been able to do, I think construction sand would be better than gravel. This way they could also use it as dust bathing :)

Thanks Stacy. I seach for tin every day. If I find an over abundance of it, I will sure let you know. Sounds like you are getting things really tightened up against Mr Coon :) We plan on starting to let them free range in the evening soon. Want to make sure they know where they are suppose to go when it gets dark. Hope we have no problem getting them back in the run. They do go into the coop at nite on their own, so we just leave the door open on the coop.
Took 2 of the Buff Orpington's roos and put in with the 4 older chickens a couple days ago. That didn't work. The Barred Rocks didn't like them one little bit and went to pecking on them pretty quickly, so returned them to the smaller coop. Time to get rid of some Rock Roo's soon. So if anyone is looking, we have a couple.

Just so everyone will know, The sale at Ft. Oglethorpe Tractor Supply is tomorrow and they are having another on July 13th. It part of a big promotion for July 4th i think. They have been handing out flyers for weeks. Does anyone know about the Ooltewah Tractor Supply sale that is supposed to begin?

Anybody looking for Ancona ducklings or Mottled Javas, I will be downtown Sunday morning at the market and can bring them.
We're not actually having a booth that day, just going for orientation.

Thank you for the update. Might have to take a few bantams & LF to sell in July.

Not sure about Ooltewah. Are they going to have more chicken, ducks etc. sale?

I will have a few Black Silkies about 5 weeks old to sell at the July 13th sale in Ft. Oglethorpe. I am looking for 2 EE hens to replace 2 victims of an apparent winnie dog attack. Any one in Chattanooga area have any you need to move?

Anyone need a Barred Rock cockerel about 4 months old or a Dominique, same age ? I have one of each I am willing to get rid of. Would love to trade for a hen, same age bracket if possible.

My husband stopped at Ooltewah TSC, they did say they would be having the swap day July 13 from 11-4.
I think I may go to FO first being they start earlier and have a covered area & then stop by Ooltewah on the way home.

If I go I'll be taking a few LF & Bantam Cochins
