Cheap, available, easy to use DE!

I have two Tractor Supply stores near here, and neither of them carry Stall Dry (in the middle of Tennessee Walking Horse territory). Go figure. I have to order DE from Amazon.

I didn't have any luck finding it at my local feed store or at the Farm & Home Store (like TSC) so I did some research and found a feed distributor. They supply all the feed stores in the area. They carried it! It was about a 30 min drive and they don't normally deal with individuals but were happy to accomodate me when I explained the situation.

You all might try a feed distributor in your area.

Hey...Check out custommilling.com They have food grade DE and will ship. Look under the product icon. I got a 50# bag plus shipping for around $40. It lasts for ever. The last bag I had lasted for a year and half. Great stuff...

This is where I get mine - Earthworks PermaGuard DE (it's food grade) Below is the last page that popped up before I order...Unless it's a mistake, the 50lb bag is only $27.50, and the total was a little over $29.00 - the more you buy, the cheaper it is!

After looking at it again, I'm thinking the total will be around $60, which is not bad for 50#. I called EarthWorks Health to get a total, so I can order some on Friday.

One more thing - be sure you read the bag if you are buying anything but the PermaGuard DE, which is pure DE. Some DE products add bentonite clay to the DE, and I once saw a warning on a chicken feed label that DE containing bentonite clay should not be mixed with the feed. Be careful.
