Cheap building supplies are out there!

Nice tip! At Lowes it was 15$ for a 2 by 4 (8' long) when I went yesterday.

I don't mind paying that if I'm doing something that only requires one piece of wood (I got it to add an extra roost to the coop) but if I was building a chicken coop... or another building...😬

And its way cheaper at a lumber yard (4$ a piece) but getting free wood? Who could pass that up! I'll definitely think about that next time I have a big project!
 
Yeah, I don't even look at the prices anymore...just look for people selling/giving away on CL or if I happen to see some on the curb I pick through it. Lots of people redoing their fences right now and throwing all of it away, regardless of condition.

I think the one I ended up getting was 10$, so still pretty pricy, but better.

Confused by your numbers, might need to check them more carefully before posting?
Makes me doubt the following plywood post too....

A piece of 4' by 4' sheet of plywood (3/4th inches thick) was 57 dollars.
