Cheap Emu eggs for sale on central Florida Craigslist

I have a Brower, whch would have plenty of room. But I live in a subdivision that probably wouldn't be emu friendly. And they've been real nice about my chickens, including the rooster.

But gosh, I'd really like to hatch an emu.

OMG!

My husband never looks in the bator. Ooohhh this is soo tempting. Would be a great practical joke---"why yes dear that came from our silkie eggs."

OK, somebody tell me this: can they just run in the pasture with the sheep and turkeys when they are big or will they stomp the mud outta my other animals?

Search the BYC site for emus.
There should be a thread where someone hatched one out.
Yes, I think if they are raised around the other animals, and people, then they do okay. But I wouldn't have an emu if I had little bitty kids, in case the emu wasn't docile. They are big birds!

ok here's my point of view being and Australian and all. I don't understand why any one would want to hatch and keep emus as pets. They are such huge graceful animals. If you saw one running free in the bush like they do over here you would never keep one as a pet. I could not imagine them being cooped up on even 10 acres. Perhaps if you were using them for a food source or oil as some do then maybe but they are really large animals and I am sure for a lot the cute factor would wear off once they are older. I would imagine they could do alot of damage to other animals you had if they were to get into a fight.
