Definitely as a treat only. Good way to make them eat more greens too. Pile grass clippings up and then throw scratch on it and they will eat/scratch their way down to get it. Too much of that will decrease egg production unless supplemented with meat. Lowers their protein intake. Could trap predators and butcher and scatter meat in run. Chooks will definitely eat it. In fact, that would be the way I would dispose of a snake. Decapitate and slit open from end to end and throw it into their run.
