If you happen to know someone that coonhunts, a "coonlight" is very, very bright since they're used to shine the tops of tall trees to spot raccoons. I use mine with an upside down funnel to candle, that will light up even the darkest of eggs. If you don't know someone that just has one you could borrow then this would not be a cheap way since coonlights are $200+ but if not the floodlight idea should work very well. Good luck (=
