Cheapest hatchery?

I have only dealt with Ideal. I can't say that I was 100% happy. The main thing that drew me in to them was that I didn't have to order the minimum 25 like with other hatcheries. We had a couple die right away and we we had 3 others just fall over dead for no apparent reason at about 8 weeks. All my other chickens were fine (the ones that came from elsewhere or were hatched here.)

I was also disappointed with the bird's feathering on their feet or lack there of (I ordered cochins.)

Just to add. Welp Hatchery is apperntly know for sending the wrong breeds and or colors of chick and not sending good shipments received 5 days later

I wouldnt worry, as MANY people have gotten great birds from them...
I have never heard of any problems with Welp until now...

I had a good experience with Welp Hatchery. Their customer service was fabulous. I also liked that shipping was included in the price quoted.

To be honest, you might want to do a little research before you dive into chickens. Depending what you like about chickens can narrow your choice of what breed, which could effect which hatchery or breeder you choose. Cheap doesn't mean getting bad quality.

I ordered 7 pullets from Meyers and I'm happy with them so far. I have a friend who orders only from Hyline.com and lswears by their Hyline Brown chickens who lays eggs all year. Personally I would only order from a hatchery closest to me for the safety and liveablity of the chicks. Good luck with who ever you decide and go for it!
