This is just for curiosity’s sake since I can’t have chickens at the new place but maybe it will help somebody else soooo…..

What’s the cheapest place to buy meat birds? Specifically Cornish Cross but also maybe ranger types?

I know it probably varies some or some maybe have sales or whatever but yeah.

I wait for the $0.25 each sale. Then I'll look at the manager and tell them I'll take the lot for $0.20 each.

Haven't been told no yet.

All I know is I'm not paying 3 bucks for a meat bird. Rather buy it.
That’s a good idea!! And yeah true! Crazy for that price or even over $3 like I’ve seen when they’re always trying to get rid of them in spring hahah even at $2 it’s crazy. Plus usually they only have the good deals if you buy like 50 or 100 which is a lot.

I bought 23 cornish cross, five straight run bar rocks (all pullets, I was picky) and 5 RIR day Olds for 8 bucks.

Raised the pullets with the cornish. Slaughtered and they kept the coop. At POL I sold the 10 girls for 25 each.

I eat as close to free chicken as I can get.
