Cheapest Price on Hardware Cloth

This is what I ended up order. I believe I will still need another one. I wanted the taller length as I'm going to put some in the ground. My run will be about 6.5 feet tall, and I'm using this hardware cloth to enclose the entire run, anchored to wooden posts and 2X4's. It looks like you all wanted the 24"-36" though. I spend hours combing the interwebs looking for the best deals too! Glad I"m not alone!

Thought I'd share! :)

HELP I'm having trouble finding 16gauge wire in anything close to less than 1 by 1inch or affordable. Apparently since the price of metal is up, the gauge is also. Remember that 19 gauge is smaller wire than 16 gauge and 23 gauge is so thin you could almost rip it yourself.

We have a raccoon overpopulation problem here. I caught 6 in one week with a trap. After that, I successfully ran what was left of the coon (herd?, flock?, gaggle? pack? den?) off, by shooting one or two bottle rockets a night at dusk into the wood line. They hate bottle rockets aimed at their hiding places.

However once the chickens are in their new coop, I fear we will draw more critters toward us, and I've heard raccoons can tear through anything less than 16 gauge wire.

There are also Fox and Weasels of some sort around here. I'm playing it safe with 16 gauge wire but can't find a deal. The web also draws you to click on wire but then you have to search for the gauge and it inevitably ends up being 19 or 23. Any ideas? Anyone recently purchase 16gauge successfully in 1/2 by 1/2 or 1/4 by 1/4?

I live way out in the country with my closest neighbor being 1 mile away. We have coons, fox, weasels, rats, coyotes, hawks, etc.... We even have a pair of bald eagles nesting very close! And I've not had any problems with my 19 gauge wire run. I would not go with anything thinner, but the 19 is quite sturdy. I bought mine off of Amazon, with free shipping, for $128.81 for a 4 foot by 100 foot roll. I bought two of them on June 14, 2016. I am very confident in the security of the run I built. My run is 16X28 feet. Hope this helps, but I do understand your concerns.

I found amazon to be the cheapest but we are prime members and didnt pay for shipping. Make sure you place your posts at the proper width to fit standard hardware cloth sizes or you'll be in for a heck of a headache. good luck
