Check My Mix Breed Chicks! Golden Laced Sebright/Silverduckwing Mix

Your not gonna believe this.
So I threw out the bloody eeggshell into the woods. I was cocky this year because I haven't seen a single predator. The blood attracted two raccoons. :barnie
I saw only one at first and ran out with a metal rod. I though that it was a cat... It was not. The two flattened their ears and skitterred out of the coop. Thank god they weren't rabbid. The coop door will be locked until the new chick reaches a certain age now. When I dunno

What does decline mean?

I'm not noticing the word "decline" in any of the posts.
Do you mean "duckwing"? (I'm thinking autocorrect changed your question, so I'm trying to guess what the word was meant to be.)

"Duckwing" is a particular color pattern in some breeds of chickens.
Someone thought the wings of the males look like the wings of some ducks, which is how it got the name.

Wow! I thought that Duckwing was just a breed name not a color pattern.
Strange though because for example, Golden Laced Sebrights are named after this king named Sebright. There name has a color, color pattern, and noun.
So Silver Duckwings are color and color pattern? Poor bois. :lau

Your rooster is a silver duckwing old English game bantam, OEGB being the breed. :p

I have to look more closely. Also their personalities are vastly different so that helps.
I should’ve guessed; I’ve had OEGBs and sebrights and both breeds have a lot of personality. Do they have names?

I’ve done that before. All I can say is that you can never underestimate predators. :/

Oh. So when I called him a silver duckwing it was just like calling a germin shepard a silver sabble? 😬
I though that silver duckwings were a branch of the OEGB. Whoops. :lau
So my little man is a silver duckwing OEGB. Color, color patern, and noun. (Is it a noun? 🤔)

They do have names. Or at least the boys do because of how the boys tend to get more personality at a young age.
There is Vanilla, a sweetheart, Eyas, he is a suck up that loves treats, and Hawk, he is a bother. So far they are a really flighty, yet sweet bunch. Hopefully it stays that way.

Yeah. Another common mistake is calling a d’uccle bantam a mille fleur. Mille fleur and silver duckwing are varieties, not breeds.

Those are great names. :) My latest batch of chicks (which I got a year ago) had the names Penguin, Mico, Eclipse, and Sparrow, in case you need name ideas for the pullets (though three of them were cockerels XD). Two of them were sebrights and two were OEGBs.

I might use some of those names. 😁

Thank you for commenting and letting me know that auto correct changed it ...
