I went into the garage to get some shavings for the brooder and I found this:
how old was it
Ohhhhh Lynn, that is so cute!!!!
Cute! Not a dumb cluck-cozy!
i have a rosecomb hen that is hiding her eggs under shavings,,,when i go in there are eggs, then there arent and she is in a corner,,,i go back ..no eggs,... ??? check under shavings....its like she is hiding them so i wont stop her,,,,lol
Well isn't she a happy (and considerate) girl!! What a nice clean place to lay.
Yes, nice and clean unlike the ones I found today under the rhododendron bush next to the foundation of my house.
The shavings back & the behind the bush eggs are both so sweeettttt!!! Love that!!!
We have one hen at the stables that lays in a small aluminum trash can half full of old pieces of tack.
ANd one of the favorite spots is the big feed bin. I guess the sweet feed holds the heat and if we don't put the lid back on right away, we will come back to find a cuple eggs in it!
She finally got out and I found 3 eggs in there! One was buried out of sight!
